Pre-Order The Alcatraz Escape and Receive a Gift!

On May 1, 2018, the third book in the Book Scavenger series, The Alcatraz Escape, will be available in bookstores and libraries near you in the United States. Only two months away, can you believe it? And I have a special gift for you if you pre-order a copy of the book with a possible bonus item for schools. More info on that in a second, but first, here’s a look at the cover in case you haven’t seen it (which Betsy Bird was kind enough to reveal on her Fuse #8 blog):

Isn’t that a sharp-looking cover? I love it. Any guess who the third person in the boat is?

So that special gift I mentioned–I’m partnering with the talented folks at Curious City DPW to create a super cool Book Scavenger map that will highlight some of my favorite locations featured in Book ScavengerThe Unbreakable Code, and The Alcatraz Escape. If you pre-order a copy of The Alcatraz Escape and email your proof of purchase and mailing address to fromthemixedupfiles@gmail.com by April 30, I will send you a signed map as a thank you!

You can pre-order your book from any book retailer you’d like in order to qualify for the promotion. If you’d like to support an independent bookseller, check Indiebound.org for one close to you. If there isn’t a bookstore nearby, many bookstores will ship, so pick one near your favorite city or email me and I can send you a long list of wonderful bookstores I’ve had the pleasure of visiting.

A SPECIAL BONUS FOR SCHOOLS! If you are affiliated with an elementary or middle school, please include your school name in your email. If I receive ten pre-orders from people affiliated with your school, I will donate a signed copy of The Alcatraz Escape to your school library.

Feel free to pass on this pre-order information to anyone you think might be interested. I appreciate your support!

    • Wow, I am honored to know that. I have a lot of favorite books but I’ll say a few that immediately pop into my mind are: Masterpiece by Elise Broach, Three Times Lucky by Sheila Turnage, The Vanderbeekers of 161st St by Karina Glaser, and When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead. So many more that I love too though!

  6. I LOVE books with codes and mysterys! If someone asked to recommend some books I would say Book Scavenger by Jennifer Chambliss Bertmon, and the Secret Series by Pseudonymous Bosch. If, by any chance, Jennifer that you have any other book recommendations that have codes, puzzles or mysterys, then please tell me!

P.S. My favorite character in Book Scavenger would be Emily, because she´s been to more places in North America than I have been to!

  7. I LOVE books and I LOVE codes so I LOVE Book Scavenger. I am super excited for the third to come out! I have so many favorite books (I tend to love 60% of the books I read) and Book Scavenger is for sure in the top 5. If anybody wants a book recommendation and you like fantasy and thick books, then read Magyk, the first book in the series of Septimus Heap and by Angie Sage. I really enjoyed it even though each book in the series is about this thick: | |

    • Oops the two of these: || went super close together. the book Magyk is about this thick:
